Producer, Editor, Writer, Director, Content Strategist, Consultant, Journalist.
Producer.
Producers make things happen. We research, pitch ideas, book guests, record and edit interviews, mix feature reporting and long-form storytelling, write scripts, chase breaking news, oversee quality control, archive, and act as the glue between hosts and organizations. I’ve done this work at Marketplace, The LAist (formerly KPCC), WHYY, NPR, The Gist, and Rocket Summer Productions (my own LLC). This is a small sample of the work I’ve produced.
Editor.
As an editor, I ensure that ideas are great, storytelling meets the highest standards, and execution is conducted with purpose and process. I’ve come to understand that the secret to editing is building trust—the trust of the reporters you partner with, the trust of the organization that stands behind your work, and the trust of the audience, which relies on you to get it right. I’ve edited features, short news spots, and commentaries about politics, economics, healthcare, science, sports, and more.
